Ambassador breakfast connects business concerns with Canada-Cambodia dialogue

Cambodia's business opportunities and operating challenges were the focus of a CanCham breakfast with Ambassador Christian DesRoches on 7 May 2026. Held at Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh, the gathering brought members of the Canadian business community into direct conversation with Canada's diplomatic representation.
Discussion spanned tourism, energy, garments, agriculture and cybersecurity, alongside preparations for the Francophonie Summit. The range of subjects reflected the different markets and working environments represented within the community.
The breakfast gave business leaders and professionals a shared setting to discuss those issues rather than treating each sector in isolation. It also connected the day-to-day concerns of businesses with the wider relationship between Canada and Cambodia.
The forthcoming summit added another dimension to the exchange: an international gathering in Cambodia creates a reason for business and diplomatic networks to engage more closely. The conversation placed that opportunity alongside the commercial questions already facing members.
CanCham hosted the breakfast as part of its work to maintain direct dialogue between businesses and institutional partners, and thanked participants for contributing their perspectives.
