Advancing Women’s Leadership in Business
On March 6, 2026, CanCham Cambodia joined the International Women’s Day Workshop on advancing women’s leadership, co organized by UN Women and EuroCham with support from DFAT. CanCham Vice Chair Ms. Monika Nowaczyk contributed practical perspectives on embedding equality into leadership and workplace systems.
Stronger Governance, Greater Impact
On March 24, 2026, the CanCham Cambodia Board of Directors joined a governance workshop led by Trevor Sworn of the Cambodian Institute of Directors. The session focused on board effectiveness, role clarity, and improved decision making as part of the Chamber’s commitment to structure, transparency, and accountability.
Urban Development Committee Meeting
On March 6, 2026, The Room Architecture and Design hosted a session on de risking development in Cambodia. Speakers emphasized trusted multidisciplinary teams, early stage feasibility assessments, cost discipline, and value engineering as tools to improve project outcomes.
Policy Brief: Currency Shift in Cambodia’s Garment Sector
A policy brief by the National Bank of Cambodia and UNDP highlighted the gap between USD based wages and KHR based spending in the garment sector. The issue outlined practical implications for payroll, accounting, worker financial well being, and gradual policy movement toward greater KHR use.
Advancing Women’s Health Through Open Dialogue
During Women’s Month, Ms. Mona Tep, CanCham Board Member and CEO of Pharmacie de la Gare and Advance European Medicare Center, led open discussions on cervical cancer, breast cancer, and menopause in collaboration with the Women’s International Group and Java Creative Café.
Canada in Cambodia News
ABA Bank introduced more flexibility for Fixed Deposit customers by allowing credit card requests through ABA Mobile using Fixed Deposits as collateral. Manulife Cambodia announced the relocation of its Sihanoukville Branch Office. OCIC and Canadia Bank supported the return of 74 Khmer artefacts to Cambodia.
Community and Cultural Updates
The issue features the CIS Songkran Festival, CanCham’s participation in a Cambodia International Film Festival evening supported by the Embassy of Canada and Québec Government Office in Singapore, and the official launch of the Canadian Alumni Network in Cambodia.
