The Room Architecture & Design hosted CanCham Cambodia's Urban Development Committee on 6 March 2026 for a session on reducing development risk, from the first project vision through to groundbreaking.

The discussion examined the importance of assembling a trusted multidisciplinary team, carrying out rigorous early-stage feasibility assessments and maintaining cost discipline throughout design.

Value engineering was another focus. The session presented it as a way to improve efficiency, manage risk and strengthen long-term project value, extending beyond the narrower aim of cutting costs.

Together, the themes connected early planning choices with the challenges developers and investors face as projects move towards delivery in Cambodia. The session formed part of the committee's practical exchange on the country's development sector.
