Broken Courage tour brings Canadian-Cambodian storytelling to local communities
Ambassador Christian DesRoches joined Bophana for the launch of a mobile tour of Canadian filmmaker David Peck’s documentary.
Canadian filmmaker David Peck’s documentary Broken Courage is reaching communities in Cambodia through a mobile film tour launched with the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center.
Ambassador Christian DesRoches joined Bophana at the launch, connecting Canada’s diplomatic presence with a project centred on storytelling and conversation. The film explores resilience, justice, accountability and reconciliation.
Peck has described the national tour as a collaboration bringing the documentary to students, universities, communities and organisations, with space for discussion about trauma, healing, resilience and hope.
The tour adds a cultural and educational dimension to Canada-Cambodia connections, bringing a Canadian filmmaker and Cambodian partners together around experiences and stories rooted in the country.
