Canadian Ambassador Christian DesRoches paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on 20 April 2026, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepen trade and investment ties.

The meeting welcomed the growing momentum in Canada-Cambodia relations. It also looked towards closer cooperation in the lead-up to the Francophonie Summit in Phnom Penh.

Canada expressed its interest in working closely with Cambodia to build on that positive direction. The exchange placed economic cooperation alongside the wider diplomatic relationship as the two countries prepared for the international gathering in Cambodia.
