OCIC and UNICEF agree to support children’s rights and opportunities for young people
A memorandum signed on 24 August sets out cooperation on responsible business practices, education, family-friendly workplaces and skills for young people.
OCIC and UNICEF signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 24 August 2026 to strengthen cooperation on the rights and well-being of children and young people in Cambodia.
Dr. Carolyne Pung, Vice Chairperson of OCIC, and Maha Damaj, UNICEF Representative-Designate to Cambodia, signed the agreement. The partnership establishes a framework for the two organisations to bring business resources and child-rights expertise into shared initiatives.
Areas of cooperation include promoting children’s rights and responsible business practices, supporting education and youth empowerment, advancing family-friendly workplaces, and strengthening skills and opportunities for young people.
The agreement also reflects a commitment to the Children’s Rights and Business Principles, which guide businesses in understanding and addressing their effects on children’s rights and well-being.
The signing establishes the partnership’s direction; the education, workplace and skills initiatives are areas for collaboration under the agreement.
